REAL BLOG POST 22

Hey Blog, this is my second to last post and I have learned so much about my want to direct and my love for bringing characters and a storyline together to create a believable introduction to a movie people my age would watch. Margo, our main character is a "copycat" because she doesn't break the stereotype of the edgy girl who wants to run away because her parents don't understand her. We reinforce this idea due to her mom saying "bye young lady" instead of an endearing term. When Margo gets to school she changes in her car uncovering who she really is and having to change in secret. This character and her traits represent the confusion and finding of self when being a teenager and how often kids don't aren't always who their parents want them to be. Teens are often left misunderstood and there is a loss of connection with parents and their growing children due to their expectations of who the parents want them to be. Our product engages with a

REAL BLOG POST 20

hey Blog, I wanted to talk about what we were planning on filming this Tuesday coming up on our day off. We are almost done with our project with few shots left to film in Daniela's house and a few more shots left to film in school. After deciding to refilm some shots because of continuity issues and finishing our shots so that we can edit it we are almost done with our film intro. Post-production will be a whole different beast that I will most likely have to conquer. As seen n the credits in my last post I am the editor and will have to get the free trial for Adobe Premiere Pro. I have edited before because of time spent in television production so I feel my team mate trust me.

Hi Blog, over break Daniela did the opening credits and it turned out really good . These credits came out amazing and I really liked the way they turned. They definitely help further the notion of that teen movie and credit those who took part in the making. The way these credits are displayed to give teen drama tones and the bouncy, light-hearted tone of this film. The way these were shot were also given flowy and not rigid movements to show the casualty of the film as well as including bright colors and lights.

hi blog, We have planned to film after Spring Break since most us will not be here and there is an exam day where none of us have to show up to school in the middle of the week. I am sure Daniela is planning to fil our intro credits throughout Spring Break and we took inspiration from Lizzie McGuire for some of the credits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEKzcIOwcgc In this intro, Lizzie breaks apart her room to pack for a big trip parallel to Margo, there are also the names of people and their titles in everyday objects to introduce and give people credit.

Hey Blog, The rest of my movie will be about the things they never got to do under the strict control of their parents such as getting tattoos, the couple enjoying their time together. What is not made obvious throughout the film but is implied that Margo and Liam are not allowed to date which is part of their reasoning for wanting to run away. These couple pictures represent the relationship between Liam and Margo. They have total trust for each other as well as love and support. Paola and Tomas are friends in real life and seem to have a chemistry that could not be found if they didn't previously know each other. I feel that this pair is the best that could have represented their characters because they are both so similar to them.

Hey Blog, I found a link for the song my friend covered so that one could listen to. You can hear the difference in the way the cover is sung in a more playful light on the cover than in the original version. We chose the song to be lighthearted and sort of haunting at the same time to foreshadow the twist our movie is going to take. When Paola is packing in what seems to be her normal school bag but is actually packing school clothes it is easier for the audience to understand that she is not planning on staying. The audience can also interpret this as an omen that they will be watching a teen movie.  The actorsa re actually in their teen years which is rare for teen movies in Hollywood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebb5AinKxWI

What's up Blog, This post is going to be about all the Pros and Cons of how I see my film going with my teammates. Pro's first: I love my teammates, I believe we all bring something different to our project but eventually all believe in the same finished product and it causes to challenge each other and makes us thrive. I love that we have picked our main character who is my teammate Paola because she is dedicated to the role and is open to receiving advice about what to say or how to say certain lines. Daniela is the most logistically sound person I have ever met. She always keeps our group on track without being rude or bossy and basically does all the heavy lifting for our film so that we can show up and bring our skill set. My last teammate is Sara who is not a creative person but more of a STEM person but is so intrigued and eager to learn about the media side and genuinely never fails to bring ideas to the table. I also like the direction our film is taking as well as o

Hey Blog, I wanted to dedicate this blog to type of shots I want to get within our film. Since we already started filming my team sort of has a vision of the shots we want to shoot. We don't want this to be seen as a low budget bad quality film that most students with our resources create but something aesthetically pleasing. This will include vivid color psychology to describe our characters and the emotion of their current scenario and silhouette shots with clean cut lines to visually show the true person of the characters but without light to depict that they still wear masks to hide who they really are.   The modern design of our school shows the era in which it is filmed along with the neon lights showing a desire to go back to the way things used to be. The tan jeep that, Liam drives describes the type of teen he is. Not the average musclehead with a muscle car. It is a smart, sturdy and reliable car that can hold many friends and is amazing for road trips. Our friend

Hey Blog, I wanted to dedicate this blog to our sidekick in our film, Liam. These supporting characters help the main character solve problems, provide comedic relief and introduce another side of the main character that usually would not be shown. Such as a romantic side or comedic side. According to, allwritefictionadvice she explains the importance of supoorting characters and what they can provide to our film. The author claims " The characters you create are always acting and reacting to what is happening, either directly with the protagonist/antagonist, or through subplots, which means they are brilliant at advancing the plot, which they do through their dialogue and their actions. That’s because they are often the cause of tension and conflict, which every writer knows is paramount to moving a story forward." The supporting character within our film is our main character's love interest wh will help in her journey or running away from traditional teenage paths.

Whats up Blog, This week was soooo productive for our project. We finally started FILMING!!! I wanted to take this blog post to discuss Margo's costume design throughout our film. As seen in other high-grossing teen dramas like Sex Education, Hunger Games, and The Breakfast Club there is always the main character who is dressed in all black to portray the teenage angst perspective that some teens like to live. These characters all depict a rebellious lifestyle that some teenagers wish they lived, intriguing our teenage audience further when Margo wears all black to show that she follows the angsty teen stereotype. These type of characters allow furthering the plot line by often breaking rules and creating solutions to obstacles. Margo is one of those characters she cannot handle the perfect image that her parents want her to be therefore she leaves with her boyfriend, Liam. He will be providing the comic relief in our film.

hey Blog, Our main characters are multifaceted people who are not going to be classically Aryan. They will not have common stereotypes but will face the pressure of being a teen because it is what every single person has gone through. I think this is the hardest part to portray in our short time frame of 2 minutes. How can one truly depict 17 years of a person's life, personality, history with people in a short 2 minutes along with a storyline? I think it is ironic because our character wants to leave that all behind and start a new life altogether. Margo reminds me of these strong women in lead roles who want to break boundaries and not deal with their common stereotypes such as

HEY Blog, I wanted to dedicate this blog to Liam because there are so many movies with a sidekick to the main character that makes the movie as well as enhance the main character's qualities, the most obvious one being Batman and Robin. Liam is not the typical boy that is in love with his girl best friend. They see each other as brother and sister and it is never implied as anything more. I have been researching different types of sidekicks and according to The Huffington Post, there are seven.  https://www.huffingtonpost.com/screencraft/the-seven-most-common-typ_b_11818036.html According to this article, Liam is most likely to be the jester which includes the characteristics of The main goal is to have a great time and lighten up the world. Yearns for full enjoyment of the moment. Scared of being bored or boring. Tries to play and make jokes. A strong spark for life, living life to it’s fullest. Likely to be careless and clumsy.

What's up Blog, My group is having a really hard time scheduling times outside of school to fil because we are all really busy during this time of year. We have decided our locations are going to be at our school and our team member's, Paola, house. We want our main character to portray this perfect life with color psychology. There isn't really a color to portray privilege but we thought a perfectly pink room with medals and accolades of all things Margo has had the privilege of doing would convey that she has the ability to only focus on school and building her resume to get into a good college. We want all things to be pink except for her clothes and the backpack that she is taking with her. Our school which we cannot really control the color scheme will have to taken to our advantage sine it is grey it can mean that school for Margo is bleak and dull with no meaning, she no longer wants to be a perfect daughter.

Hey Blog, This week my peers caught me up on what I had missed from not being in class. We decided our main characters name is Margo and her sidekick is Liam. Our team wanted different names as a type of foreshadowing that they are not just normal kids that follow the average path of life. Our opening scene introduces the credits with Margo packing her thing in her school bag so her parents so don't notice that she is not really going to school. The credits will be sewn on to a pair of Goodwill pants that we will buy as well as in trophies around her room as our team depicts her perfect lifestyle. We took inspiration from early 2000's movies such as Clueless and 1980's movie Grease.   As these movies are for teens as well it will keep the audience captivated while shouting out who we deem took part in creating this film.

WHATS UP BLOG, I feel like my young dream of keeping up with a diary is completed by writing these blogs. Today during class my group decided to use a template of storyboards and draw what we want to be depicted through our 2 minutes. I really like that we all have the same vision and want to start with our character getting ready in her perfectly pink room and she is greeted by her perfect parents and a buffet of breakfast which she says she will not be able to enjoy or else she will be late. So as she's leaving she gets in her car and cuts to her at the beach narrating why she decided to skip school. I love the ideas my group has and we are deciding costume ideas which I will tell you about in my next blog as well as physical copies of the storyboard.

REAL BLOG POST 5

Heyo Blog, "Heyo" is an informal way of saying hey as if saying say wasn't informal enough in case you didn't know...  Anyways my group decided on our girl's stereotype, we all really liked the idea of a preppy pretty girl with her life together with the surprising aspect of her running away. We wanted to put some humor as well. so the tones and filter of the film are light and bright. This includes shots of clear skies and our characters wearing bright colors. Including her parents, we want this girl to have a perfect life and have the audience guessing on why she ran away until revealed at a later date. So our film is a more extreme version of Ferris Bueller's Day Off.  My group liked the idea of having a very liked and known kid run away. It contrasts the stereotype of the pretty girl with everything and no brain has a deeper understanding of high school and the meaningless people around her. She has a soul and does not want to go down er guided path.

REAL BLOG POST 4

Whats up Blog,  I've never been able to casually talk in a school project so I'm going to use it at full-force. My group is still unsure of our characters within our film. In "The End of The F***ing World" they have a boy and a girl which is what my group wants to base our film after but we are not sure if we are going to be able to schedule a boy into our filming schedule. Something that I have to start taking into account that I did not have to before when analyzing movies is the production aspect in the way that it takes many hours and scheduling to make a single take to happen.  So much scheduling goes into making a movie. I didn't realize this until I had to figure out if I wanted to show actual parent's faces or if we wanted it to stay kid-focused and only show their bodies and show their expression through symbols and body language. This takes scheduling because I have to find actors that are old enough to be believable parents or real parents who ar

REAL BLOG POST 3

Hey Blog, This week my group decided to not meet up on Sunday since there is an SAT the next week and none of us were available this weekend. My partners wanted to study so we decided to use our class time wisely and discuss what we expected and wanted from this project. We decided on the lead character which will be played by my partner Paola and what she is expected to be like. My group can't decide on what type of stereotype our leading character should be. I like the idea of an edgy dark-clothed girl who fights with her parents but I feel it has been done so much already. My group wants to do a perfect girl who has lots of pressure on her and decides to run away without thinking of the repercussions afterward.

REAL BLOG POST 2

Hey Blog, I made a group chat with my partners to discuss what genre we wanted to focus on or if we had any ideas for what we wanted our project to look like. One of my partners spoke about making a horror comedy like Scary Movie 1-5.   Where it takes the stereotypes of horror movies and puts a comedic twist on them. I thought we should do something along the lines of a teen drama such as "End of the F***ing World" with a lead girl who plans on irrationally running away and has not thought anything else through. I picture my partner Paola as the lead girl.

Hey Blog, I am excited to begin typing this journey and share it with those who are curious to know the process it takes to create a 2 minute introduction to a film. In class, our teacher spoke of the guidelines that Cambridge requires. I feel that the projects leading up to this final project have prepared me suffice to excel in this final film.
